Description

Accredited Platform Specialist APS
An APS (Accredited Platform Specialist) can install or upgrade a product's hardware and software as part of break/fix service or an installation service, and can back up and restore a device's configuration. An APS can also verify that a device is operating "as shipped from the factory". Since APS technicians work on one device and one technical issue at a time under the direction of a higher skilled individual (who, for example, creates configurations and does troubleshooting), APS certificate holders should recognize the limits of their certificate's scope and know when to use appropriate escalation procedures.

Audience
Service technicians who perform remedial maintenance activities for the purpose of restoring a single ProCurve Networking product (including hardware and internal operating system) to operational level as from factory. The scope of this certification covers HP ProCurve Networking Switches up to Layer 3 (up to and including the 5400zl), HP ProCurve wireless products (Access Points, Radio Ports and Wireless Controllers), HP ProCurve WAN routers and HP ProCurve Security products (700wl series and the HP ProCurve Access Control Module).
