The Remote Device Activity Capture utility application for Windows servers listens for client traffic and reports client addressing back to the NAC 800. This utility can eliminate the need for traffic mirroring to port 2 of the NAC 800 when in 802.1X mode or supplement the device activity capture through mirroring.

When the NAC 800 is operating in DHCP mode, this utility allows the NAC 800 to intercept DHCP requests for quarantined clients for Microsoft 2003 DHCP servers only. This allows the NAC 800 to be deployed in DHCP mode without having to be inline. The Microsoft DHCP Connector also requires the Remote Device Activity Capture utility.
